5Buying Pallets

What sizes of pallets do you sell?
We stock a wide range of pallet sizes, with the most popular being the standard 48x40 GMA pallet. We also carry 42x42, 48x48, 48x45, 36x36, half pallets (48x20), and European sizes (800x1200mm). For non-standard or custom sizes, we can build to order with a typical lead time of 3-5 business days. Visit our Size Guide for complete dimensions and specifications on all available sizes.
What is the difference between Grade A, B, and C pallets?
Grade A pallets are in premium, like-new condition with no visible damage, cracks, or stains. Grade B pallets show normal wear from multiple use cycles but are fully functional -- they may have minor cosmetic imperfections, light staining, or professionally repaired boards. Grade C pallets are economy-grade with more visible wear, possible repairs, and cosmetic issues, but they still meet minimum structural requirements for safe handling. Check our detailed Grading Guide for visual descriptions and pricing.
What is the minimum order quantity?
We have no strict minimum order. You can purchase as few as a single pallet if you need it. However, our best pricing starts at quantities of 50 or more, and truckload quantities (400-500 pallets for a standard 48-foot trailer) receive the most competitive per-unit pricing. We recommend ordering in pallet increments that optimize trailer loading for the most cost-effective delivery.
Do you sell new pallets as well as used?
Yes, we sell both new and used (recycled) pallets. New pallets are built from fresh-cut lumber and are available in standard and custom sizes. They are ideal for export, automated systems, and applications requiring consistent quality. Used pallets are inspected, graded, and often the most cost-effective option for general warehouse and distribution use. Visit our New Pallets and Used Pallets pages for more details.
Can you build custom pallets to my specifications?
Absolutely. We build custom pallets in any dimension, wood species, and configuration. Whether you need a non-standard size, specific board thickness, heat treatment, or special fastener requirements, our team can engineer and produce pallets tailored to your exact needs. Provide us with your specifications and we will return a quote within 24 hours. Learn more on our Custom Pallets page.

4Selling Pallets

Do you buy used pallets?
Yes, we purchase used pallets in all conditions. Whether you have a small stack of surplus pallets or truckloads from a distribution center, we are interested. We buy pallets that are reusable as-is, repairable, and even broken pallets for board recovery. Contact us with your quantity, approximate condition, and location, and we will provide a fair market offer.
How do I sell my pallets to Pallets West Coast?
The process is straightforward: (1) Contact us via our contact form or email with details about your pallets -- quantity, size, approximate condition, and location. (2) We will provide a quote based on current market rates. (3) Once accepted, we arrange pickup from your location at a mutually convenient time. (4) Payment is issued promptly after inspection and count. For regular suppliers, we can set up scheduled recurring pickups.
What condition do pallets need to be in to sell them?
We accept pallets in virtually any condition. Pallets in good shape (Grade A/B) command the best prices. Pallets needing repair are worth less but are still purchased. Even broken or dismantled pallets have value for board recovery and wood recycling. The only pallets we cannot accept are those contaminated with hazardous materials, treated with non-standard chemicals, or infested with pests.
Will you pick up pallets from my location?
Yes. We provide free pickup service for qualifying quantities (generally 50+ pallets) within our standard service area in the Willamette Valley and greater Oregon region. For smaller quantities or locations outside our primary area, a modest pickup fee may apply. We can also arrange scheduled recurring pickups for businesses with a steady supply of pallets.

4Services

Do you offer pallet recycling services?
Yes. Our recycling program accepts pallets in any condition. Reusable pallets are sorted, repaired if necessary, and returned to circulation. Non-repairable pallets are dismantled and boards are recovered for other uses. Unusable wood is processed into mulch, animal bedding, or biomass fuel. We maintain a 97%+ diversion rate from landfill. Learn more on our Pallet Recycling page.
What is heat treatment and do I need it?
Heat treatment (HT) is the process of raising the core temperature of wood to 56 degrees Celsius for 30 continuous minutes to kill insects and pathogens. It is required by ISPM-15 for all solid wood packaging materials used in international shipments. If you are exporting goods outside the US, your pallets must be heat-treated and stamped with the official IPPC mark. We operate a certified heat treatment facility and can treat your pallets or supply pre-treated stock. See our Heat Treatment page for details.
Do you offer pallet repair services?
Yes. We repair damaged pallets to extend their useful life. Repairs include replacing broken deck boards, re-nailing loose components, trimming splinters, and replacing damaged stringers or blocks. Repaired pallets are re-graded and must meet at minimum Grade C standards before being returned to service. Repair typically costs 40-60% less than buying a new pallet. Visit our Pallet Repair page.
Do you deliver pallets?
Yes. We offer delivery throughout Oregon and the Pacific Northwest. Local delivery within the Eugene metropolitan area is often included for orders of 100+ pallets. Regional delivery is available to Portland, Salem, Bend, Medford, and surrounding areas. We can also arrange long-haul freight to anywhere on the West Coast. Delivery timing and pricing depend on quantity and destination. See our Delivery & Logistics page.

4Sustainability & Environment

How sustainable are recycled pallets compared to new ones?
Recycled pallets are significantly more sustainable than new. Each recycled pallet saves an estimated 3.1 board feet of lumber, prevents approximately 31 kg of CO2 emissions from manufacturing, and diverts wood from landfills. The energy required to sort, inspect, and repair a recycled pallet is roughly 10-15% of the energy needed to manufacture a new one. By choosing recycled, you are directly supporting the circular economy. Read our full Sustainability Report.
What happens to pallets that are too damaged to reuse?
Pallets beyond repair are dismantled, and any usable boards are salvaged for repairs on other pallets. Remaining wood is processed through our grinder and converted into landscape mulch, playground surfacing material, animal bedding, or biomass fuel for energy generation. Metal fasteners are magnetically separated and sent to scrap metal recyclers. Our goal is zero waste to landfill, and we currently achieve a 97.3% material recovery rate.
Are your pallets treated with chemicals?
No. We do not use chemical treatments such as methyl bromide (MB) fumigation on any of our pallets. Our ISPM-15 compliance is achieved exclusively through heat treatment (HT), which uses only heat -- no chemicals -- to eliminate pests. Heat treatment is the globally preferred method and is required by many importing countries that have banned MB fumigation due to its ozone-depleting properties.
Do you have any environmental certifications?
We are ISPM-15 certified for heat treatment, an active member of the NWPCA (National Wooden Pallet & Container Association), fully compliant with Oregon DEQ (Department of Environmental Quality) regulations, and we source new lumber from suppliers with SFI or FSC sustainable forestry certifications. Our facility operates on a zero-waste-to-landfill principle with a 97.3% material recovery rate.

10Pricing, Orders & Partnerships

What are your payment terms?
We accept multiple payment methods including credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express), company checks, ACH bank transfers, and wire transfers. For new customers, payment is due on delivery or upon pickup (COD). Established accounts with approved credit can access Net 15 or Net 30 payment terms. To apply for credit terms, contact us with your business information and trade references. We also offer prepayment discounts of 2-3% for orders paid before delivery.
What is your pricing structure and how are quotes calculated?
Pallet pricing depends on several factors: size (standard 48x40 is most affordable; specialty sizes cost 20-40% more), grade (A, B, or C), quantity (volume discounts start at 50+ pallets), current market conditions, and whether pallets are new or recycled. We provide free quotes within 24 hours of your request. For the most accurate pricing, tell us the size, grade, quantity, and delivery location. We also offer annual pricing agreements for customers with predictable, recurring needs -- these lock in prices and protect you from seasonal fluctuations.
Can you handle emergency or rush deliveries?
Yes. We understand that supply chain disruptions happen and sometimes you need pallets urgently. For standard 48x40 GMA pallets in Grades A, B, or C, we can often fulfill same-day or next-day orders from our in-stock inventory. Rush delivery within the Eugene metro area can often be arranged within 4-6 hours of order confirmation during business hours. For after-hours emergencies, contact us via email and we will prioritize your order for the earliest possible fulfillment. Rush fees may apply for same-day delivery outside our standard service area.
What is your return or quality complaint policy?
Customer satisfaction is our top priority. If you receive pallets that do not meet the grade specifications you ordered, contact us within 48 hours of delivery with photos documenting the issue. We will arrange a replacement shipment, issue a credit for the grade difference, or send a team to inspect and swap out non-conforming pallets -- whichever solution works best for you. For quality complaints, we investigate the root cause internally and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence. We maintain a quality log and our target is less than 1% non-conformance rate on all shipments.
Do you offer custom orders for non-standard pallet configurations?
Absolutely. Our manufacturing team can build pallets to virtually any specification. This includes non-standard dimensions (any length and width combination), specific wood species (hardwood, softwood, or mixed), custom board thickness and spacing, special fastener requirements (ring-shank nails, screws, bolts), notched or unnotched stringers, block or stringer construction, and specific treatment requirements. Custom orders typically have a 3-7 business day lead time depending on complexity and quantity. Provide your specifications via our contact form or send a drawing, and we will return a quote within 24 hours.
How does seasonal demand affect availability and pricing?
The pallet market follows predictable seasonal patterns. Q1 (January-March) typically has the lowest demand and best pricing -- this is the ideal time to stock up or negotiate annual contracts. Q2 (April-June) sees moderate demand as spring planting and construction ramp up. Q3 (July-September) is peak season due to harvest, back-to-school, and holiday inventory build-up -- prices can increase 10-20% and lead times may extend. Q4 (October-December) remains high due to holiday shipping but begins cooling in late December. We recommend placing large orders in Q1-Q2 when supply is abundant and pricing is most favorable.
Do you offer partnership or distributor programs?
Yes. We offer several partnership models for businesses with ongoing pallet needs. Our Preferred Customer Program provides locked-in pricing, priority fulfillment, and dedicated account management for customers committing to annual volumes. Our Pallet Return Program sets up scheduled pickups of your used pallets, paying you fair market value and ensuring they are recycled responsibly. For businesses interested in reselling pallets, we offer wholesale distributor pricing with volume discounts of 15-25% off retail. Contact our partnerships team to discuss which model fits your business.
What insurance and liability coverage do you carry?
Pallets West Coast carries comprehensive business insurance including general liability ($2M per occurrence), product liability coverage, commercial auto insurance for all delivery vehicles, workers compensation for all employees, and umbrella coverage. We can provide certificates of insurance (COI) upon request for your vendor qualification process. Our pallets are graded and inspected according to NWPCA standards, and we stand behind the quality and load ratings we publish for each grade. If a pallet failure results from a manufacturing or grading defect on our part, we take full responsibility.
Can you provide pallets for trade show and event use?
Yes. We supply pallets for trade shows, pop-up retail, events, and creative projects regularly. For display purposes, we offer Grade A pallets that look clean and professional, or specially selected "character" pallets for rustic aesthetics. We can also provide heat-treated pallets with visible IPPC stamps for trade shows with international attendees where compliance signaling matters. Short-term rental arrangements are available for events -- you pay a reduced rate and return the pallets after your event. Contact us with your event dates and quantity needs for a custom quote.
How do you handle large-scale or multi-location fulfillment?
For businesses with multiple locations or very large volume needs (10,000+ pallets per year), we offer a managed pallet supply program. This includes dedicated inventory allocation at our facility, scheduled deliveries to multiple ship-to addresses on customized routes, consolidated billing, a single point-of-contact account manager, and quarterly business reviews with usage analytics and cost optimization recommendations. We currently manage multi-location programs for several regional distribution networks spanning Oregon, Washington, and Northern California.

4Logistics & Delivery

What is your service area?
Our primary service area covers the entire state of Oregon and extends into Southern Washington, Northern California, and Western Idaho. We are based in Eugene, OR, which gives us efficient access to the I-5 corridor from Medford to Portland and beyond. For large orders, we can arrange delivery to anywhere on the West Coast. Contact us to confirm coverage for your specific location.
How quickly can you fill an order?
Standard sizes (48x40 GMA) in Grades A, B, and C are stocked in large quantities and can typically ship within 1-2 business days. Custom sizes, specialty dimensions, and heat-treated pallets may require 3-7 business days depending on current inventory. For large volume orders (multiple truckloads), we recommend 1-2 weeks lead time to ensure smooth fulfillment. Rush orders may be possible -- contact us to discuss.
How many pallets fit on a truck?
For standard 48x40 GMA pallets stacked flat on a 48-foot trailer: approximately 400-500 pallets depending on whether they are stringer or block pallets and how they are nested. On a 53-foot trailer, capacity increases to approximately 500-600. For delivery purposes, we optimize truck loading to maximize the number of pallets per trip, keeping your per-unit freight cost as low as possible.
Can I pick up pallets at your facility?
Yes. Customer pickup is welcome at our facility at 1875 W 6th Ave, Eugene, OR 97402. Our yard is open Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM and Saturday from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Please call or submit a request ahead of time so we can have your order staged and ready when you arrive. We can load your truck or trailer with a forklift.
