What Makes Us Different
Our Culture
Safety-First, Always
Our facility handles heavy materials, power tools, and industrial equipment every day. We hold weekly safety meetings, provide full PPE, maintain a zero-tolerance policy for unsafe practices, and have an incident rate well below the industry average. Safety is not a priority that competes with production; it is the foundation that makes production possible. Every new hire receives comprehensive safety training before they touch a single pallet.
Growth from Within
Several of our current team leads and supervisors started as entry-level warehouse associates. We believe in promoting from within because nobody understands our operation better than the people who have worked every station on the floor. We offer clear advancement paths, cross-training opportunities, and leadership development for employees who demonstrate initiative and reliability. Your career ceiling here is set by your ambition, not your starting position.
Green Mission with Real Impact
This is not a corporate sustainability talking point. You can see the impact of your work every single day: pallets that would have gone to landfill, repaired and returned to service. Wood that would have been wasted, converted into mulch for community gardens. Over 800,000 pallets diverted since we started. When you work here, you are part of a genuine circular economy operation that delivers measurable environmental results.

What to Expect
A Day in the Life
Wondering what it is actually like to work here? Here is a look at a typical day for three of our most common roles.
Pallet Repair Technician
6:45 AM: Arrive at the facility, clock in, and head to the break room for the daily safety briefing. Today the supervisor reminds the team about proper lifting technique for stringer pallets and reviews the production target for the shift: 45 pallets per technician.
7:00 AM: Gear up with safety glasses, gloves, and ear protection, then head to your repair station. The morning batch is already staged: a stack of 48x40 Grade B pallets with broken deck boards and one cracked stringer. You pull the first pallet onto the jig, assess the damage, and start pulling the damaged board with a pry bar.
7:15 AM - 10:00 AM: Steady production rhythm. Measure replacement boards, cut to size on the station saw, position, and nail with the pneumatic gun. Each pallet takes 8 to 12 minutes depending on the repair complexity. A quality inspector spot-checks your completed pallets every hour.
10:00 AM: 15-minute break. Coffee, water, and conversation with the team. The lead tech mentions a custom pallet order that needs attention after lunch.
10:15 AM - 12:00 PM: Continue repair production. By noon, you have completed 22 pallets, right on pace. A forklift operator stages completed pallets for the finished goods area.
12:00 - 12:30 PM: Lunch break in the covered break area. The company provides cold water and a microwave. Many team members eat together.
12:30 - 3:30 PM: Afternoon shift. After the lunch batch, you switch to the custom pallet order: building 20 non-standard 60x48 pallets from new lumber for a manufacturing client. This work requires more precision and slower production but is a welcome change of pace from repair.
3:30 PM: Clean your station, return tools, update the production log. Total for the day: 47 pallets, 2 above target. Clock out at 3:45 PM and head home.
Delivery Driver
5:30 AM:Arrive at the yard, check in with the logistics coordinator, and review today's route sheet. Three deliveries and two pickups scheduled across the Willamette Valley, totaling about 180 miles round trip. Your truck is already loaded from the night before with 160 pallets for the first two drops.
6:00 AM: Complete pre-trip vehicle inspection: tires, brakes, lights, load securement straps. Log the inspection in the tablet and pull out of the yard.
7:15 AM:First delivery at a food distribution center in Salem. The receiving manager signs the delivery receipt while you unload 80 pallets using the customer's forklift. On the way out, you pick up 40 empty pallets from their dock as part of their buyback agreement.
9:00 AM:Second delivery at a brewery in McMinnville. Quick 30-minute stop: 80 pallets off, a friendly chat with the warehouse lead about next week's order, and you are back on the road.
10:30 AM: Pickup stop at a retail store in Albany. Load 75 used pallets that have been accumulating since last week. Grade them quickly on-site and note the counts on the pickup receipt.
12:00 PM: Lunch break at a rest stop. Check in with dispatch via the tablet to confirm no route changes.
1:30 PM: Return to Eugene yard. Unload the 115 picked-up pallets at the receiving bay. Complete post-trip vehicle inspection and turn in all paperwork to the office. Clock out by 2:30 PM. Home in time for the afternoon.
Sales Representative
8:00 AM:Arrive at the office, check email and voicemail. A prospect from last week's cold outreach has replied asking for a quote on 500 recycled pallets per month. Draft a customized proposal based on their stated needs and price it with volume discounts.
9:00 AM:Team huddle with the operations manager and logistics coordinator. Review this week's delivery schedule, discuss inventory levels, and flag a new account that needs heat-treated pallets. Confirm that the heat treatment team has capacity for the order.
10:00 AM: Drive to a prospective client, a mid-size manufacturer in Springfield. Tour their facility, assess their current pallet usage, identify waste and cost-saving opportunities. Present our recycled pallet program and buyback option. Leave with a verbal commitment to trial 200 pallets next week.
12:30 PM: Lunch with an existing client, a produce packer preparing for harvest season. Discuss pre-season pallet staging and confirm the delivery schedule for the upcoming three months. Relationship building is the backbone of this role.
2:00 PM: Back in the office for phone prospecting. Make 15 outreach calls to businesses in the target list. Connect with four decision makers and schedule two facility visits for next week.
4:00 PM:Update the CRM with notes from today's meetings and calls. Send the formal proposal to the morning's email prospect. Review pipeline and prioritize tomorrow's activities. Clock out at 5:00 PM.
More Than a Job
Why Work at Pallets West Coast
Work That Has Meaning

Hear from Our Team
Employee Testimonials
The best way to understand what it is like to work at Pallets West Coast is to hear directly from the people who show up every day. Here are four of our team members sharing their experiences in their own words.
“I came here with zero experience in woodworking. They trained me from the ground up on every tool, every technique, every safety protocol. Within six months I was hitting production targets consistently, and by year two I was training new hires myself. The pay has gone up every year, and the benefits are better than what my wife gets at a company three times this size. I actually look forward to coming to work, which I have never been able to say about any other job.”
Marcus D. — Pallet Repair Technician
With Pallets West Coast for 4 years
“I was driving long-haul before this and barely seeing my kids. Here, I am home every single day by 3 PM. The routes are interesting because you get to see different businesses and build real relationships with the people at each stop. The truck is well-maintained, the loads are safe, and if there is ever a problem on the road, dispatch picks up on the first ring. I took a small pay cut to come here, but the quality of life makes it worth ten times the difference.”
Jennifer R. — Delivery Driver
With Pallets West Coast for 3 years
“I started here stacking pallets in the yard for $16 an hour. Six years later, I am running the entire operation with a team of 18 people. They saw something in me that I did not even see in myself and gave me every opportunity to learn, grow, and take on more responsibility. There is no glass ceiling here. If you work hard and show initiative, they will invest in you. The owner still comes to the floor every day and knows every employee by name.”
David K. — Operations Manager
With Pallets West Coast for 6 years (started as Warehouse Associate)
“The commission structure here is genuinely uncapped, and the product sells itself once you get in front of the right people. What I love most is that I am selling something that actually helps businesses save money and reduce waste. I can look every customer in the eye and know that what we offer is real value, not some markup on a commodity. The team behind me in operations delivers on every promise I make, which makes my job so much easier. I have doubled my income since joining.”
